Author Michael Furlonger of ChristianWritersBookstore (https://christianwritersbookstore.com/michael-furlonger/) continues his sub-series of The Spirit Of The Prophets and recognizing false prophets. This video’s focus is on a slave girl who predicted the future. She never claimed to be a prophet, but in today’s church, that’s all we need to be considered a prophet.

Acts 16:16-18 reads,

Once when we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a female slave who had a spirit by which she predicted the future. She earned a great deal of money for her owners by fortune-telling. She followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, “These men are servants of the Most High God, who are telling you the way to be saved.” She kept this up for many days. Finally Paul became so annoyed that he turned around and said to the spirit, “In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!” At that moment the spirit left her.

Michael warns about how we in today’s world are so desiring of the ‘prophetic gifts’ and in the next video, he shares what Apostle Paul classifies the purpose of a prophet.

This series alone should be well considered. Whether in a personal time of reflection and devotion, or used to reach others with the hope we have in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
