Author Michael Furlonger of ChristianWritersBookstore (https://christianwritersbookstore.com/michael-furlonger/) is addressing False Prophets and the prosperity message they share. This is only part of the Revive Us Again, Oh Lord series. This video, Micah Warns Of False Prophets.
Micah 2:6 reads,
“Do not prophesy,” their prophets say.
“Do not prophesy about these things;
disgrace will not overtake us.”
Micah 2:11 reads,
If a liar and deceiver comes and says,
‘I will prophesy for you plenty of wine and beer,’
that would be just the prophet for this people!
Understand the context that Micah is prophesying in Judah and the “prophets” are saying, “don’t say these things; disgrace will not overtake us.” Reading the verses 7-10, a correction is laid out. And Micah ends with the warning of liars and deceivers- false prophets- prophesying prosperity and that’s only the case for individual people.
For example, a “prosperity message” may be true in North America, but in the middle east, any message of Jesus Christ could lead to imprisonment or death.
This series alone should be well considered. Whether in a personal time of reflection and devotion, or used to reach others with the hope we have in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
