Anna

Author Michael Furlonger of ChristianWritersBookstore (https://christianwritersbookstore.com/michael-furlonger/) shares on an (relatively) unknown prophet named Anna who had a total of 3 verses mentioned in scripture (Luke 2:36-38). This episode is called Anna The Widow.

At the baby dedication of Jesus Christ, Luke 2:36-38 reads,

There was also a prophet, Anna, the daughter of Penuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was very old; she had lived with her husband seven years after her marriage, and then was a widow until she was eighty-four. She never left the temple but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying. Coming up to them at that very moment, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the child to all who were looking forward to the redemption of Jerusalem.

Michael addressed how this woman’s actions at the loss of her husband was to go straight to the Temple to worship and she stayed there fasting and praying.

Being a prophet doesn’t mean that life will always go well with your worldly circumstances. But despite the hardship, the spirit of a prophet is to go to God in prayer.

This series alone should be well considered. Whether in a personal time of reflection and devotion, or used to reach others with the hope we have in God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
