Writing It DownPhoto by Karolina Grabowska on <a href="https://www.pexels.com/photo/opened-notebook-and-silver-pen-on-desk-4195410/" rel="nofollow">Pexels.com</a>

(Ps. 87:6) “The LORD shall count, when he writeth up the people, That this man was born there. Selah.”

My wife laughs at me sometimes because I am so organized. I can’t help it. I organize everything, and I L-O-V-E lists! I can tell you what sermon I preached 10 years ago on any given church service because I have it all written down.

Okay, so maybe I am a tiny bit OCD. Although…if I were OCD, wouldn’t it really be CDO? 🤔 Okay, I digress.

Where was I? Oh, yes, I love lists. I use them for about everything. If we forget something while grocery shopping, I will ask my wife, “Did you put it on the list?” (I will let you imagine the look she gives me.🙂)

So, when I read our Bible verse for today, it made me feel good to know that God makes lists too! It says, “The LORD shall COUNT, when he WRITETH up the people, That this man was born there.” Psalm 87 is talking about Mt. Zion. So, evidently, God made a list of everyone born in Jerusalem.

Of course, that really shouldn’t surprise us, because God has a record of everything. He has a book of records for all those who have trusted in Jesus as their Savior. He has a list of every word we have said, and He has a list of every deed we have done!

Here’s the encouraging part…

You may feel as if what you are doing for the Lord doesn’t really matter; that it is small and insignificant. But the Bible says that God sees it all!

Just keep on being faithful in these difficult days. Your service for God is not going unnoticed because God is writing it all down!
