Acceptance

Why is it so hard to accept love?

Why?

This is a question some people are having a hard time with. It can be hard to accept because you have been hurt, used, or even abused. Those are not the things God had intended to happen to you. God only wants good for you. The enemy comes to kill, steel, and destroy, but Jesus comes to give us life and to give us a more abundant life.

The enemy wants to take from you what God wants for you, but remember that what the enemy means for harm, God means for good. When we learn to accept things, we can then learn to heal and move forward. By letting God take those hurt places in our heart, we are allowing His love to replace where we are hurting the most.

It can be hard at times, but worth it in the end. No matter what may have happened to you, God can heal that very, very deep hurt you are holding on to. In the end, it’s not worth holding on to because it will only hurt you and not the other person. It can cause you physical pain and make you sick.

That is why it is so very important to let that pain go and let God take His love and place it there and heal you.

Personal Experience

From personal experience, I can honestly say it is not all ways easy, but God has healed pain. By healing this pain I have been able to learn to love. When I have been feeling like lashing out, I have had to learn to understand why I want to lash out or get upset. Then I can let it go and move forward. I love when a person can discern why they are feeling the way they are and work through it with the Lord. God is so good, isn’t He!

My husband has been through a lot, but he keeps getting up and keeps going forward. It is with the love of God and the help of the Lord, He has been working through those hurts and learning to love in a different way. Love is not yelling, apologizing, and yelling again. That is not love. Love is when you apologize and not do that thing again. No one is perfect and I have learned not to expect so much or have such high expectations for people or myself. No one is perfect, except for Jesus.

First Corinthians 13 talks about Love.

Love is patient, love is kind, it does not envy, it does not insist on it’s own way…..

When we bear with one another in their hurts we are loving them. It may be very hard at times and you may want to give up, but do not. It is worth all the hard work and effort you have put in with the Lord doing it through you. Hurting people hurt others, healed people can help heal others. When we learn to accept things, we learn that we have a loving Father who wants to love you and show you the depth of his love and how much he wants to help you and heal you.

God showed the depth of His love in John 3:16, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” Giving one’s life for another is the ultimate sacrifice. That is LOVE. God’s love is so wide and so deep, no one can fathom the Love of God. He wants to take us deeper and deeper in His love and healing.
