A Desolate Desert by Robert M. Hinnen

How can I not show the way for those who are lost
That our sins are forgiven by His death on the Cross
His boundless grace shining down like rays of the sun
The bleak darkness by this holy Light is overcome

In the desolate desert that was my heart
Christ Jesus came His love to impart
No longer there does an arid wind blow
But the righteous blood of my Savior flows

Ahead of me the oasis my life has been longing for
From deep wells of Living Water my hope does pour
Worthy only by His sacrifice I am held in His hand
Rejoicing forever in His mercies like hills of sand

In the desolate desert that was my heart
Christ Jesus came His love to impart
No longer there does an arid wind blow
But the righteous blood of my Savior flows

“On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.'””
John 7:37-38 ESV
