For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39 (ESV)
Grief and joy, tears filling the same empty space
This present suffering, the testing of one’s faith
Will this pain still be there, overwhelming tomorrow
Can well-intentioned words turn back this sorrow
Is there solace ever in death’s hollow cup
Ahh! Just now the prayers of the saints raise me up
Surrounding me with Love’s perfect embrace
Kneeling at The Cross, anew, I find His mercy and grace
For there is only One, who suffered and died
Defeating our sin and deserved doom, gifting us life
Everlasting, to be with Him, our hope and promise
Christ Jesus is The Living Word overcoming my distress
And in Whom I find needed strength, peace and rest
