Dear Mom,
More than a few years have passed since we were all together last
Still I miss you so very much and nothing fills the hole left in my heart
And I do not even want to try, but one cannot live long in the past
Though my memories have grown dearer since we have been apart
Tempering the sorrow and loneliness that would consume my thoughts
And prevent me from experiencing the joy that still defines your life
I cherish your goodness and godliness, traits I have always sought
But when I think of the life you have now, I cannot help but smile
For your love for Christ Jesus gives blessed assurance of your destiny
And that is the legacy I hope to leave for my children and grandchildren
Thank you for all your prayers on my behalf and never giving up on me
I know your love for me is never-ending and I know I will see you again
