By His Grace by Robert M. Hinnen
From the very start my heart was made of stone
Searching for meaning in anything I could own
Nothing more important than my earthly needs
Worshipping the power of money and all it brings
But there was ever an emptiness I could not fill
A vast void so very large longing for anything real
I knew despite everything I had I was still all alone
Desperately desiring the one thing I did not own
A relationship with the Creator of heaven and earth
The One who truly loved me even before my birth
Who sacrificed His only Son on the Cross just for me
Forgiving my sins He conquered death for all eternity
By His love He has made my heart His home
By His righteousness He has made it His throne
By His blood He has made His mercy known
By His grace He has made me His very own
“…For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified by his grace as a gift, through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, whom God put forward as a propitiation by his blood, to be received by faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in his divine forbearance he had passed over former sins. It was to show his righteousness at the present time, so that he might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.”
Romans 3:23-26 ESV
