Ric Schaekel grew up in Pittsboro, Indiana. He married his high school sweetheart, Margaret Wheatley. They have been married for fifty-four years. They have two children and four grandchildren. Ric Schaekel lived in Indiana, Florida, Tennessee, and now lives in Gainesville, Georgia. Margaret had a medical event six years ago which brought them to Georgia to be near their daughter and her family.
They experience many activities in their new community including choir, bible study, exercise, and entertainment at the clubhouse. They enjoy day trips and trips back to Indiana to see family and friends.
