I was in a car accident as a child and this made doing a lot of physical things difficult. While no bones were broken (aside from a miraculous neck healing), my right side had to compensate for my left’s weakness.
This is why working out is different for me and requires modifying a lot of popular workouts. While many like to share their results on YouTube, I want to share how I modify my workouts.
There are so many Christians and unbelievers suffering with illness and other problems and don’t know what to do. The reason this is happening is because of lack of knowledge from the word of God. The Bible informs us that My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. If we know the truth it will set us free.
“And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:32)
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; Because you have forgotten the law of God, I also will forget your children. (Hosea 4:6)
Now, our children have been forgotten by the Lord because we have forgotten the law of God. This can explain why we see so many children are being ill and dying. Our biggest problem is the devil and our lack of knowledge. The devil is roaming around looking for someone to devour. We need to resist him and not fall into temptation and allow him to use us.
Usually, he uses people that have no knowledge from God’s word. The devil temps people to live worldly lust and the things of the flesh and sin. He temps them to worship idols instead of God. Once he is able to make them disobey God and His law, then he has the legal right to come into their life to Kill, steal and destroyed.
Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfilled the law of Christ. (Galatians 6:2)
For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man. But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. (Romans 7:22-23)
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same suffering are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. (1 Peter 5:8-9)
Warning Against False Gods
God doesn’t want us to have any other gods before Him, we should not make ourselves a carved image of any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or any image of any form at all, not a form of a female or male. We should not have carved images of Jesus, Virgin Mary, Hindu gods, Buddha, angels, saints or any images of gods at all.
“You shall have no other gods before me.” You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments. (Exodus. 20:3-6)
“Lest you corruptly and make for yourselves a carved image in the form of any figure: the likeness of the male or female. (Deuteronomy 4:16)
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12)
God’s plan for our lives is good and not evil. God wants us to have an abundant long life, so we can fulfill the calling that He has for our lives. The devil has stolen so many lives before their time with an illness which led to death and accidents, and this is not God’s plan. God gave us His word (the Bible) so we can gain knowledge to have a better life, but many choose not to read it and lack the knowledge and this is the result of this tragedy how we have lost so many of our love ones and our own lives have been destroyed.
With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation (Psalm 91:16)
The silver-haired head is a crown of glory, if it is found in the way of righteousness. (Proverb 16:31)
The fear of the Lord prolongs days, but the years of the wicked will be shortened (Proverbs 10:27)
“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. (John 10:10)
For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, say the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope. (Jeremiah 29:11)
God has even given us the Holy Spirit with power, so we can take our authority over all the power of the enemy the devil.
“But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” (Acts 1:8)
And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.” Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. (Luke 10:18-19)
Thank you for reading my blog.
God has put a desire and a passion, for me to help others to gain the knowledge that they need so they can fulfill God’s plan for their life. If you feel this blog was helpful and you want to know more about how to take your authority. If we don’t take our authority over the devil then he will take his authority over us.
Do you ever look back ashamed of old TV shows and movie you used to watch? With Amazon Prime, Netflix, Disney + and many other streaming channels, you can watch these reruns. So, today, I want to talk about life with TV Shows I Left Behind.
Sometimes we don’t think of what comes into our minds. The same thing with music, which is a post for another day. So, looking back, I want to share things that I’ve noticed now looking back.
Note that this is my personal revelations, not self-righteous judgement for you to obey.
So let us begin discussing some TV shows I Left Behind.
When my mom became a Christian, one thing she did was say, “No Simpsons.” Note: I thought O.J. Simpson was a member of the Simpsons cast, so what do I know, right? Anyway, we weren’t allowed to watch The Simpsons anymore.
Now, over twenty years later, I find myself watching a Simpsons movie with my wife. While perhaps we can find funny moments in the movie, I keep on watching a boy who is frightened of his father. A father who, whenever the kid steps out of line, chokes his son. Of course, people brush this off as, “Oh, it’s just a silly sitcom.” But, oh my goodness, how can we expect our society to survive if we feed it that. We raise our kids to be kind and respectful, but sit them in front of this?
Now, in the show, they have a Christian character/ family named Flanders. This family is used to laugh at for their religious family values. But, in this movie we watched, Bart (the son) chooses to go on a fishing trip with Ned Flanders. At one point, I think he loses a lure or something, and immediately is expecting his father to strangle him.
Isn’t it great to make strangling a child funny? Bart sticks out his tongue and makes a funny noise.
But instead of strangling Bart, Ned Flanders says something like, “Whoopsie doo.” And Bart is left with a new revelation that, “Oh, you’re not angry.”
Don’t we need a revelation like that about Christians? And, more importantly, do we, as Christians, make sure we’re portraying love in our lives?
Ok. I know that a lot of people like this show, but looking back I see a horrible story. Let me explain the basic plot: Ross’s is sad because his wife broke her marital vows because she’d rather be with a woman. Rachel runs into the scene in a wedding dress because she’s decided not to get married. Later on in the episode, Chandler and Joey help Ross movie into a new apartment. At which time Joey makes fun of Ross for getting married. Joey would also share his surprise of Ross only having sex with one woman ever.
So, in this opening episode, I see the whole plot being about Ross’s failed marriage. Furthermore, Rachel fleeing from her wedding adds to Ross’s drama because of a lifelong crush on Rachel. Episode one says that marriage is bad. The second last scene of the show, after 11 or 12 seasons, is Ross and Rachel finally being together.
If you watch the whole show, Ross, the only one with a doctorate degree, is laughed at. He had many failed marriages in the story line. When he dates Rachel, he shows how little he cares for her after the break up (on a break) and sleeps with another woman.
This whole premise of sexual promiscuity runs through nearly every episode. So, looking back, I’ve recognized this being a background story: Have as much sex as you can until life, marriage, happiness randomly falls into place.
Two And A Half Men
Just like the show Friends, Alan’s wife breaks marriage vows because she decides to be a lesbian. Don’t hate on my use of the word “decides” because she later marries another man.
Alan is criticized by his playboy brother he moves in with and his mother for his failed marriage.
While living with his brother, Alan also has his 10 year old son every weekend. This doesn’t stop brother Charlie from having casual women coming by the house every night.
Again, marriage is for losers. It’s better to be single.
How I Met Your Mother
How I Met Your Mother follows a story quite similar to that of Friends. The story follows the main character Ted, as he relives his life by sharing with his children how he met their mother. While sharing for nine seasons about dating tons of women and sleeping with any number of them in hopes of finding The One.
Again, it’s like Friends: Sleep around until life falls into place. And who cares who gets hurt on your process. And if a person is traumatized, it’s obvious that it’s that person who has issues, not your fault for treating them like garbage.
Furthermore, another friend, Barney, sleeps with many woman. Barney would show a completely disrespectful, perverted view of women. Then, when he finally gets married, he’s surprised how hard marriage is and gets divorced.
I repeat: This is not me telling you what to or not to do. There are so many shows that I love that have dirty background stories. And I have to wonder, should I be watching this?
Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air was a funny show. But didn’t Will Smith laugh at his cousin Carlton for being a virgin? There is an episode where Will stops Carlton’s wedding and ashamed of people thinking he’s a virgin, shouts, “I ain’t no virgin.”
Happy Days was a great show. Who doesn’t love Fonzy? But is he not just a playboy who snaps his fingers and the girls come running?
Even my favourite show Bonanza. Who doesn’t love Adam, Hoss, Little Joe and Pa? It’s a great western where this family of three brothers and their dad living on a piece of land called the Pondarosa. They have a new visitor on the land to help or have to help a damsel in the big city. But I felt convicted because every few episodes Little Joe was making out with a new woman.
Again, I’m not judging you if you watch certain shows. This is just things that came to mind recently. I focused a lot on the sexual aspect of TV today, but maybe I should focus on the violence in the Rambo movies. Or the language in others.
Tell me some shows or movies that you have been convicted of.
For those who are checking out this blog for the first time, this is a sequel post to Scared of Eternity? In the previous post, I discussed a fear of Heaven I had as a teenager due to the measurements given in Revelation 21. I also shared hope that was given through the water of life recorded in Revelation 22 among other quoted verses regarding God’s creation.
Today’s blog post will share other details that I believe can cause quite a concern for those suffering with anxiety like me. I encourage you to read the Scared of Eternity? post highlighted above.
I don’t know why the idea of “work” is such a distasteful word these days. Everyone seems to want to make as much money with doing the least amount of work possible. I had a pastor call me co-dependent because I was offering to work for no money. But, I didn’t want to work because I’m co-dependent, I wanted to work because I enjoy it.
Now, on topic, in the New Heavens and New Earth, we will work. In the original design, God made man work.
The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. (Gen. 2:15)
Now, God’s original design, after He created all things, was for man and woman (Gen. 2:18) to work. As we know, the man and woman start talking to a snake, eat a fruit, and are guilty of sin. Let’s relook at this ‘work’:
To Adam [God] said, “Because you listened to your wife and ate fruit from the tree about which I commanded you, ‘You must not eat from it,’ “Cursed is the ground because of you; through painful toil you will eat food from it all the days of your life. It will produce thorns and thistles for you, and you will eat the plants of the field. By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food…” (Gen: 3:17-19a)
This is the first thing that I want to illustrate is that “Work” is not a necessary evil. We are designed with capabilities to think, create and work. So for those who think of Heaven as sitting on a cloud, playing a harp, eating Philadelphia Crème Cheese, think again.
This brings up step two.
This topic needs to be discussed, not just about Heavenly worship, but also on earth. But for now, I’ll focus on the New Heavenly worship. While there are various texts to point to an inactive worship, I’ll share one:
Day and night they never stop saying: “‘Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty,’ who was, and is, and is to come.” They lay their crowns before the throne and say: “You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being.” (Rev. 4:8b& 10b-11)
Now, the hard part with interpreting prophecies, I believe, is that they can be in allegory. Whereas Jeremiah 29:10, for example, gives a specific time of 70 years of captivity, others are left with more of an interpretation. So, I think, it’s best to interpret godly worship.
In the previous blog post, I share how God is bigger than the highest Heavens. King Solomon says this when he is dedicating the temple to God. So we must talk about godly worship.
New Covenant of Worship
First verse is when Jesus is talking to a Samaritan woman. Culturally, Samaritans and Jews were not allowed to associate with each other. This is part of the conversation:
“Sir,” the woman said, “I can see that you are a prophet. Our ancestors worshiped on this mountain, but you Jews claim that the place where we must worship is in Jerusalem.” “Woman,” Jesus replied, “believe me, a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.” (John 4:19-24)
This woman believes that the only place to worship is in Jerusalem, the temple Solomon built. Arguably rebuilt since the siege of the Babylonians. But Jesus said that a time has come where it won’t be about the place. “God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in Spirit and in truth.”
Our second verse comes from Apostle Paul. Like Jesus, Paul is sharing the message with non-Jewish people. He tells them:
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. (Romans 12:1)
The Image Of God?
I had a professor in college who believed that in the New Heavens and New Earth we will create like God. We will speak planets into creation as God did in Genesis 1. I’m sorry, but I strongly disagree. If our only understanding of God is his ability to create, we are greatly lacking in understanding God’s holiness. Allow me to share some verses:
And just as we have borne the image of the earthly man, so shall we bear the image of the heavenly man. (1 Cor. 15:49)
For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his. For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin— because anyone who has died has been set free from sin. (Romans 6:5-7)
But our citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ, who, by the power that enables him to bring everything under his control, will transform our lowly bodies so that they will be like his glorious body. (Phil. 3:20-21)
Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. All who have this hope in him purify themselves, just as he is pure. (1 John 3:2-3)
God created us as an eternal being and calls on us to be holy. And, I believe, in the New Heavens and New Earth we will design and create. Proverbs 9:16 says,
In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps.
I believe that we will create and design, space ships and submarines, to seek more of the creation that God has done. We will land on distant planets and examine things we have never seen.
This day, I encourage you to seek after God. God’s love for you so much that he paid to cover your sins. In the Garden of Eden, God sacrifices an animal to hide the shame of Adam and Eve’s sin (Gen. 3:21). Now, God has sacrificed his Son, Jesus Christ, to cover our sins.
Let us seek holiness above all things. And when you find yourself unholy, that God for Jesus Christ who cleanses us from all unrighteousness.
Note that this video is not about politics. On Facebook, I saw a video of Don Lemon laughing about Donald Trump and his supporters. While I do not care to discuss politics, what burdened me greatly was the added hate upon hate in the comment section.
During the famed Sermon on the Mount, Jesus said:
“You have heard that it was said, ‘Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your own people, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. (Matt. 5:43-48)

There’s this little movie series. Maybe you’ve heard of. It’s called Star Wars.
Oh, so you have heard of it. Colour me surprised 🙂 (Note: If you haven’t seen Star Wars, there will be spoiler details)
Basically, we have three generation of Star Wars fans:
The first generation was when the movie came out in 1970-80s. The story followed Luke, Leah, Han Solo and Chewbacca who go fight Darth Vador and the emperor. Darth Vador cuts of Luke’s hand and says, “Luke, I am your father.” Despite his dad cutting his hand off, Luke comes back in the third movie to bring his father out from the dark side and into the light.
The next generation was the back story of Darth Vador in movies that came out in 1990s-00. You learn about Anakin Skywalker (Darth Vador) as a child, Obi-wan Kenobi (Ben), Padme, and the Jedi Counsel.
Then there is this new generation who, for some reason, continued the story. Basically, in the first trilogy, Luke redeems his father and brings balance to the force. The second trilogy done, tells the story of why Darth Vador joined the dark side. But now we have a third trilogy that made no sense to me. I have no idea what the story line in it was or its purpose. But, we see Han Solo, Leia and Luke Skywalker again.
Why Am I Writing About This?
I’m sharing this because, in the movie, the galaxy is operated by this mystical “force”. The way to say “Best Wishes” would be to say, “May the Force be with you.” Somewhere along the way, someone said, “May the Fourth be with you.” And here we are, celebrating Star Wars on May 4th (albeit, I’m writing this the day after).
As I said, you watch the original series and you find out that Darth Vador is Anakin Skywalker. Then you watch these prequel movies and watch Anakin Skywalker become Darth Vador. And I know this might sound super dramatic, but it made me sad.
I remember when Return of the Sith came out in theatres. It’s the final nail in the coffin when good little Anakin from Tantooine becomes Darth Vador.
I went with a friend to see this movie. Afterwards, he asked me what I thought. I kept on thinking, “Anakin, don’t join the Dark Side. Don’t join the dark side.”
My friend asked, “Well, you know why this happened, right?” Of which I did, but I didn’t like the outcome.
Do You Want To Know The Outcome?
Would you want to know the outcome? If you knew the exact day you would die, would you want to know? If you knew the exact day you would meet your spouse, would you want to know?
The end of Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, “… No one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”
If God knew the beginning from the end, if He knew the inner wickedness of the human heart, why did he create us?
There’s a lot of disagreement on whether humans have free will or if we are predestined by God to seek Him.
Please note, that as we come to the end of this blog, I have no idea what I’m doing. I watched Star Wars yesterday, the story of Anakin Skywalker. I’ll probably watch the original three today.
But, I’m wondering, if God knew the wickedness inside of me, why did He create me in the first place? If He knew the wicked things I’ve done, the wicked things I will do, how can He even tolerate my prayers?
Closing thought: Oh, how God loves me that He sent his Son to die for me. God loves you too and he is ready, willing and able to bring you out of the depths of your sins.
One good thing about this isolation is that more people are attending church services than ever before, albeit online. And today I want to share how about my wife’s service from Sunday, which lead me to think of the coronavirus and Job.
Now, one of the things that I have commonly heard is that this virus is not from God. So many people are saying that, because we know about the background of viruses as well as other life affecting catastrophes, they aren’t from God.
Now, I’m not going to say this is or is not from God, but I will say that God is sovereign. Nothing happens without his knowing about it.
Blessed Be Your Name
We started the service by singing some songs and one of these songs is called “Blessed Be Your (God’s) Name”. Not just the Name of God, but the entire being of God, the characteristics of God.
The chorus, or bridge, of the song goes, “He gives and takes away. My heart will choose to say, ‘Blessed be Your name’.” I’ve heard pastors say that this song is about God giving good and taking bad away. But that’s not what it’s about.
First off, ‘Blessed be Your name,’ comes from a reference from the book of Job (pronounced Jobe). In the book of Job, this man of God loses everything aside from his wife. A wife, by the way, can’t even stand the smell of him, according to Job 19:17. To stay on topic, the song comes from Job 1;
At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worshipand said: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised.” In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing. (Job 1:20-22)
As you can see, Job is saying, may the name of the Lord still be praised despite circumstances. Now, in the song, one verse reads;
“Blessed be Your Name On the road marked with suffering Though there is pain in the offering Blessed be Your Name”
Supernatural Catastrophy And Coronavirus
Then the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him; he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil.”
“Does Job fear God for nothing?” Satan replied. “Have you not put a hedge around him and his household and everything he has? You have blessed the work of his hands, so that his flocks and herds are spread throughout the land. But now stretch out your hand and strike everything he has, and he will surely curse you to your face.”
The Lord said to Satan, “Very well, then, everything he has is in your power, but on the man himself do not lay a finger.”
Then Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.
One day when Job’s sons and daughters were feasting and drinking wine at the oldest brother’s house, a messenger came to Job and said, “The oxen were plowing and the donkeys were grazing nearby, and the Sabeans attacked and made off with them. They put the servants to the sword, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!”
While he was still speaking, another messenger came and said, “The fire of God fell from the heavens and burned up the sheep and the servants, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!”
While he was still speaking, another messenger came and said, “The Chaldeans formed three raiding parties and swept down on your camels and made off with them. They put the servants to the sword, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!”
While he was still speaking, yet another messenger came and said, “Your sons and daughters were feasting and drinking wine at the oldest brother’s house, when suddenly a mighty wind swept in from the desert and struck the four corners of the house. It collapsed on them and they are dead, and I am the only one who has escaped to tell you!” (Job 1:6-19)
Cause & Effect
As you just read, Job’s calamity didn’t come from a supernatural travesty. The supernatural God allowed a supernatural angel to cause damage to a natural man through natural means.
1. Sabeans attacked and stole the livestock and killed the servants.
2. Fire from heaven (arguably supernatural) fell and killed the sheep and servants.
3. Chaldeans stole the camels and put servants to death.
4. Wind swept in from a known position and knocked over Job’s children’s house, killing them.
The Lesson To Be Learned
A lot of churches teach on how God will bless them if they come to church and give a offering. Job’s story completely disagrees with that. And so much of scripture will disagree with the common prosperity message.
What we need to learn from this story is that God is God. He is our only Hope and our only source of Righteousness. To live absent of God’s righteousness is to live absent of God.
I can’t absolutely say, “The coronavirus is an absolute judgment from God.” What I can say, as Jesus said, “… When the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”
Half way through Ecclesiastes 3:11, it says, “He (God) has also set eternity in the human heart.” While 2020 isn’t going as planned for so many of us, I want to share an aspect of godliness, and God Himself, that isn’t focused on. That is the eternal nature of God. And since we are made in his image, the eternal destiny of humans.
Things You Need To Know
God is eternal and created all things (Gen. 1:1; John 1:1; John 1:14)
You have an eternal soul. Whether it’s Heaven or Hell, you will be eternally in one of those places (Matt. 25:46).
Jesus Christ died for your sins so that we may partake in the blessings of the eternal God and the eternal life we were made for (John 17:3)
God is Holy and calls on us to be holy as He is (Lev. 19:2; Deut. 26:19; 1 Peter 1:15)
Why I’m Scared
You know that scene in Aladdin when the Genie tells Aladdin that he has, “Phenomenal cosmic power.” Then he goes back into the lamp and in a squeaky voice says, “Itty, bitty living space.” That’s why I used to be so scared of eternity. I remember praying, “Lord, I don’t want to go to Hell, but I also don’t want to go to Heaven. Please, just destroy my soul.” A little morbid, I know.
In Revelation 21, an angel shows John the new heavens and new earth. Followed by verse 2, John sees the new Jerusalem, the Holy City coming down from Heaven. In verses 15-17, John shares the dimensions of the gates around the new Jerusalem. The walls were 12,000 stadia on each side and 144 cubits thick.
It scared me because in my head, I thought all of eternity would be spent within this measured city. Eternity seemed quite claustrophobic with boundaries. No?
Locked In (Part one)
I felt locked in to this four walled city, each wall measuring 12,000 stadia. That is equal to just shy of twice the size of New York City.
There were three gates on the east, three on the north, three on the south and three on the west… On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night there. (Rev. 21:13+25)
This is quite interesting. There are gates, but the gates are open, not closed. Revelation 21:26 says, “The glory and honor of the nations will be brought into it.”
New Heavens & New Earth
In Revelation 21:1, John begins by saying that he saw “a new heaven and a new earth”. Then John sees the New Jerusalem coming down from heaven to earth. There is obviously more than the small size measured out above.
Look at what Solomon prays when he is dedicating the temple within Jerusalem:
“But will God really dwell on earth? The heavens, even the highest heaven, cannot contain you…” (1 Kings 8:27)
If the infinite God is too grand for the highest heavens now, why would he minimize Himself in the new creation?
Revelation 21:1 says that “there was no longer any sea.”
I don’t like that there is no sea. “Where do the fish live?” I thought, “Jesus was a fisherman. Why would he create a new heaven and earth with no fish?”
Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life… On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. (Rev. 22:1a+2b)
I realized that not all bodies of water are sea. I remember spending several summers in my teen years at a cottage at a lake in Ontario, Canada. Spending times fishing, cooking fish over a fire and on and on.
(We can also discuss salt water seas/ocean, verses fresh water lakes. If you drink excessive salt water it will kill you, but fresh water won’t.)
Although there is no sea, in John’s revelation, there is a river and thus a body of water. I can only assume that there are many bodies of water.
The River & Locked In (Part 2)
In the section above, I mentioned my fear of being locked in to a closed location, even if it’s the new Jerusalem. I mentioned the entrance and exit through the gates that never close.
On each side of the river stood the tree of life, bearing twelve crops of fruit, yielding its fruit every month. And the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. (Rev. 22:2)
Not only do these gates never close, but Revelation 22 says that there will be other nations. And where this new Garden of Eden is, nations will come into it for healing.
I remember watching a movie when I was young called All Dogs Go To Heaven. I don’t remember liking that movie, but it is a great segue into the next topic of animals.
Do I believe that your pet gold fish will be in heaven? No, I don’t. But I strongly believe that animals will be in the new creation.
In Isaiah 65:17-25, God is telling Isaiah about the New Heaven and the New Earth. Note that there is some mention of the mortality rate of the young and the old. I personally believe this is to point out the blessings of the new creation, not the mortality itself. But on the topic of animals,
The wolf and the lamb will feed together, and the lion will eat straw like the ox, and dust will be the serpent’s food. They will neither harm nor destroy on all my holy mountain,” says the LORD. (Isaiah 65:25)
I believe that this points out two things of the new creation. One is that rival enemies, like a wolf and a lamb, will live in peace. In the same way, rival people will live in peace. And, two, there will be animals.
Will we all become vegetarians? I don’t know. But, with the technology with these fake burgers, being a vegetarian doesn’t seem that bad.
Have worked hard on a project, but knew that if you had only a bit more time, it would be better? If this universe is bound by time and space, what do you think God will do when we are no longer bound by time and space?
Two satellites were sent from NASA in 1977 called Voyager 1 and Voyager 2. While they were meant for the study of planets in our solar system, the have gone beyond it. Scientists, I believe, were quite surprised at how far these satellites had gone. As of February 9, 2011, Voyager 2 is 8.6 billion miles from the sun.
What if God says, “If only you gave me more time, I would have shown you what I have created.” In the new creation, I believe that we will see so much more of what God can do. It definitely won’t be boring.
God Loves You
God loves you. He created you as an eternal being. God wants to show you what he has done. That is what waits for us beyond this chaotic world.
God is also infinitely just. God is so just that we could never pay off the debt of our sins. But because of his love, He showed how just he is by having his Son, Jesus Christ, die on the cross.
Please, if God has called you and has set eternity in your heart, call on him. He is infinite in his justice, but also infinite in mercy.
Once you’ve done the hard part of writing a book, you move on to the second step of promotion. While this often includes a lot of word of mouth and social media campaigns, at the ChristianWritersBookstore, we are in it together. I want to help you as a writer get your message out that your book is the book to read.
Let me explain how we can get a trailer made for you.
Book Trailer Design
The first thing that I would recommend is checking out www.pexels.com. They have plenty of free photos and short videos that can be used for designing your book trailer. If you have the time, go to that website and check out some pictures and videos that would be help advertise the story of your book.
An alternative way used to illustrate your idea is creating a free Biteable.com account. It will give me an idea of how you would like your project put together. It won’t be exactly alike when I finish it, but it is your choice.
If you have more to say or would like to add more images/ video (via web address) or text, feel free to add them to the Message block below.
In hopes to keep this website and services free, I encourage you to promote your books and page (ex.https://christianwritersbookstore.com/michael-furlonger/) on this website. Also, purchases made through the Amazon Search Engine on the Home page also goes to the support of the website.
If you don’t yet have a page designed yet, be sure to fill out the form on the home page. Not only does your page offer a place to sell your book, but to also share your blogs.
